SPEAR Guest Access

SPEAR can provide read-only access to guests - for example, developers, owners or lodging parties.

All users can click on the Guests Tab at any time within a SPEAR application to see a list of the guests that are able to view that application. Users with sufficient privileges (the Applicant Contact) can use the Guests Tab to invite or remove guests from SPEAR applications.

To invite a guest to view a SPEAR application:

  1. Open the application to which you wish to provide guest access;
  2. Click the Guests Tab to open the "Manage Guest access" screen;
  3. Enter the email address(es) for one or more guests and the reason you are inviting them to this application;
  4. Optionally, enter a message to the guest/s in the field provided;
  5. Click the 'invite' button. The system will automatically send the guest(s) a SPEAR user ID and password via email.

To remove a guest from a SPEAR application you need to complete the following:

  1. Open the application to which you wish to remove guest access;
  2. Click the Guests Tab to open the "Manage Guest access" screen;
  3. Place a tick in the box next to the name of each guest you wish to remove from the application;
  4. Click the 'remove' button.

To remove a guest from multiple SPEAR applications:

  1. Browse to the Application List;
  2. Click 'Remove Guests' to open the "Remove Guest access to SPEAR" screen;
  3. Place a tick in the box next to the name of each guest you wish to remove from each application
  4. Click the 'remove' button.

Once a SPEAR application has progressed to a status of "Lodged at LV" or, in the case of a planning permit, "Completed", guest access to that particular application will lapse. In addition to this, a confirmation email will be sent to the guest once the SPEAR application has been registered at Land Use Victoria.
